The Championship Series have come to a close, and not too many people would have predicted the 2011 World Series matchup. The St. Louis Cardinals came on strong in September and have continued to stay hot with David Freese, Albert Pujols & Matt Holliday all hitting above .400 with 23 RBIs between them. Nelson Cruz of the Texas Rangers has single handedly hit his team into the World Series with 6 home runs and 13 RBIs in the series against the Detroit Tigers. In possibly his last series with the Milwaukee Brewers, Prince Fielder went yard twice while also drawing 4 walks while his superstar counterpart Ryan Braun had a very strong postseason hitting .405 with 10 RBIs and 7 doubles.

It was a very whacky 2011 Championship Series with no starting pitcher who opened 2 games with an ERA below 5.56. St. Louis Cardinals stars Chris Carpenter, Edwin Jackson & Jaime Garcia started 5 games racking up only 1 win and 20 total innings pitched. Texas Rangers starting duo of C.J Wilson & Derek Holland had 4 starts with no wins and only 18 innings pitched. It has been the year of the reliever with names like Alexi Ogando being the only pitcher to rack up 2 wins while Mike Adams, Scott Feldman, Octavio Dotel & Lance Lynn all had a win while hovering around a 2.00 or less ERA.
